Transformer Delay
The installation of the Hydrogen Office Wind Turbine ran smoothly and the fit out works are due to be completed shortly; though due to delays in securing the grid connection and the new transformer, the turbine will not be operational for a number of weeks.
Project Manager Derek Mitchell said “We have unfortunately had delays in the supply of our transformer, which is a vital part in connecting the wind turbine to the national grid. Although the turbine is ready to go, it cannot turn until the transformer is installed and commissioned.”The Hydrogen Office staff are making the most of this down time to produce educational materials for use with school groups in the forthcoming school term. The aim is to have resources, games, and workshops available for the launch date which is expected to be in September.
